It's significant in many ways, but not the same. Obama had months of filling stadiums and breaking fundraising records. Kamala is doing well, but it's been 2 weeks.
Obama also had surprise victories in many states. Kamala hasn't had a chance to do that yet.

She's not doing outdoor rallies due to security. Plus she has been the nominee for less than a month

I would be shocked if Harris won nearly as many electoral votes as Obama did in 2008.

I'm thrilled but I also know this is a very divisive electorate. 2008 wasn't nearly as divisive, unfortunately.

You have blue cities LIKE LA or Chicago. Harris is breaking records in purple and red cities: this is beyond Obama 2008

2008 Obama had more than a year to get to that level.2012 Obama had 4 years to get to that level

I'm thinking the turnout can be at Obama levels later on, Obama had 6 months of campaigning and great speeches

Obama had a mountain of mess to clean up: Iraq, housing crisis, banking crisis, auto industry
