13. After 2016, I am so anxious

I am not sure anxious is the right word. I remember how we were all excited in 2016, we thought, no way this country would elect a clown like trump. All the s#!t that had been exposed about trump, the polls looked good for Hillary. We were sure we had it. After all we were coming off the previous 8 years of a great administration with Obama.

Then I remember sitting in campaign headquarters expecting to be celebrating the election watch in horror as one after another states went trump. We felt so depressed and most of us knew the next four years were dangerous for democracy.

I am afraid to get my hopes up. It doesn’t mean I have given up, it just means I fear what could happen.

We must stay vigilant and fight with every bone in our bodies to put trump in the past for this world.
