ever be cleared from someone's record??

If the guy's 1999 aggravated assault with a deadly weapon against his wife hadn't received "deferred adjudication probation," the successful completion of which allowed him to clear his record, he would never have passed the background check to get a job requiring a service weapon.

Which is not to say that he would not have have killed her, but for sure he wouldn't have had the employer issued gun used to murder her.
