2. Jovan Belcher's blood alcohol content was twice legal limit

Kansas City Chiefs linebacker Jovan Belcher was legally drunk when he killed Kasandra Perkins, his girlfriend and committed suicide on the morning of Dec. 1, according to autopsy results released by the Jackson County medical examiner on Monday.

The autopsy report listed ethanol readings of 179 mg/dL and 170 mg/dL for Belcher. A reading of 80 mg/dL would indicate a blood alcohol content of .08, the legal limit for driving in Missouri, meaning Belcher's reading was .17.

"That level is very high," said Richard Parent, a Maine-based board certified toxicologist. "It's more than twice the legal limit."
