There aren't many statistics on the exact numbers but in 2011 30 people were killed for being LGBTQ. I suspect there are more that aren't reported in that manner.

Gay people get the shit beat out of us all the time for just being gay. It's still legal in most states to openly discriminate against us, fire us from our jobs, deny us housing...

There are many levels to war and killing someone or being killed doesn't always mean a war isn't being fought.
