16. I lived in LA and it was like a war zone every night.

I lived in a border neighborhood and they would hover over for what seemed like hours at a time. When the Rodney King verdict came in that neighborhood (we moved to northern California only one month before) almost burned to the ground. Only a couple of local businesses came through unscathed.
