But then, whoever came up with this is kind of a hypocrite too, sourcing a facebook graphic that deplores facebook graphics being used as sources.
Personally, I have no problem with the science behind GMO. it obviously has potential. It's the patenting of genes and organisms that I have issues with. If a rapeseed farmer can be sued by an agribusiness corp because his plants got pollinated by his neighbor's patented crop, that's a problem. If a corporation holds a monopoly on seed sales in developing nations, and supplies only "terminator" seeds that require a secondary product from that company to germinate, that's a problem.
The science is fine. it's the profit motive that's causing the trouble.
