(15,480 posts)31. If you always tell the truth, you never get caught up in lies
or reversing your positions based on the latest focus group findings. So many politicians follow the "tell the fools whatever they want to hear, as long as you get their votes." It's called the weathervane, lick-your-finger-and-hold-it-in-the-air, political philosophy. Bernie has demonstrated he follows a moral compass. Now we all know that morality is a subjective thing, and some may disagree with Bernie on various issues. But by god, moral conviction is what makes someone a leader, not a wishy-washy, flip-flopping, issue dodging, sorry excuse for a statesman. A person with the courage of his convictions - that is what is inspiring.
