(9,688 posts)until we're screaming in pain, then in one fricken vote that *temporarily* goes the right way they can wipe the slate entirely clean and be portrayed as new-born heroes. I'm thinking of the recent theatre over the TPP, TPA, TAA - but it's happened before SO MANY TIMES. We get played. We get royally played, and we should know better.
To say nothing of the bullshit primary/GE process where old-school politicians with decades of history are taken as new-born infants while we wait for them to affirm their "position" on stuff that should be no-brainers for the electorate, given that history, which we're expected to forget (why are we expected to forget? Because we DO, just as we're told). E.g. Hillary Clinton now being portrayed as being "to the left on economic issues" -- for some harebrained reason -- oh yes, because some reporter/pundit declared it so.
Sanders, I think, is real. He has a good history.
