14. Hayek's dogs were not under her control as legally required.

If Hayek's dog was in an fight with the neighbor dogs, no less in his own garage and an animal he did not know, he certainly has the right to defend his dogs and himself.

The chosen defensive instrumentality was legal and proportionate, and whether he was aware if he struck the animal is immaterial, as is the celebrity of the dog's owner.

If you want to keep your pets safe, ensure they are under your control and supervision and all time, particularly if they are human or animal aggressive. The police should be investigating Hayek and issuing her a warning.
