I think it's downright frightening to hear a person such as Gingrich say such things. I know for sure that he doesn't give a damn and will never lift a finger to fix the problem, and worse he will turn on a dime to capitalize on racial tension in the same paragraph, if he feels it works to his advantage. Gingrich's entire life's work is testimony against his reasonable-sounding doubletalk.

But Gingrich is diabolical enough to say it because he knows some people will believe him, while those who already follow him know exactly what he's about. Evil is most frightening when it is clever, too.
