(135,425 posts)Of course, this is just for the women--I don't notice any males being praised for how "slim" they're looking, or how lovely their LEGS are! It's like a sad throwback to the dark ages, but I guess it sells papers. They also like to post pictures that are really unflattering, and then pretend to not notice (So-and-So looking fit in skimpy bikini when the poor thing looks tired, exhausted, in need of a break and is completely unaware that they're being photographed)--that way they get the clickbait fights (She looks HORRIBLE!! No she doesn't, she looks great!!!!) in their comments section, and that, of course, increases their ad revenue.
They do make a bundle on the whole body shaming culture, don't they?
You're not talking rocket scientists who read that thing, at any rate!
I will take note of their slant if I am citing a political article, but for the tabloid-y/lounge-type stuff, I sometimes don't bother.
