Showing Original Post only (View all)Disallowing Nina Turner the chance to put Bernie Sanders into nomination seems a big mistake to me. [View all]
Like you, or many of you, I have been enjoying to the max the spirit of this convention. But this seems like an unnecessary error to me.
I am sure that including a video with Susan Sarandon in it will put some of you in a frenzy. But if you listen to what they are saying, there is a very real point. If this is how this campaign treats those who have supported Senator Sanders (no matter how assholish some of them have acted at times) it does not bode well for unity or for Progressive progress in this country.
I thought President Obama had it right with his shout-out last night to the energy and dedication of the Sanders supporters. I believe he is wise enough to know that you win elections by including more people, especially those who already want to vote for you, than you do by excluding them.
From this admittedly limited vantage point, not allowing Nina Turner to speak and put Bernie into nomination seems a picayune and wrong-headed decision, an unnecessary loss.
I hope that all Democrats can appreciate that the numbers are approximately 50/50 in that hall and act accordingly.

If she's supporting the Dem nominee, I don't think she should be allowed to speak.

With her endorsement of Jill Stein, she just "Cynthia McKinney'd" herself. Who is Cynthia McKinney?

Scuttlebutt is that Turner will be asked to be Jill Stein's running mate.

By publicly supporting Jill Stein, Turner has overtly violated the rules of the DNC convention:
