(6,496 posts)37. I've always been bothered by the hypocrisy of most Christians
even as a child. They think they are morally superior to everyone else, yet a lot of them seem to lack basic empathy for other human beings. I really bothers me that the Republicans think they are they party that represents freedom when they are the ones who want the government to tell us how we can live our lives. Republicans seem to think freedom means not paying taxes and small, weak government. The problem with the weak government is it is not empowered to protect and support its people. If we don't have those government protections, then we lose our freedom to thugs and bullies.

Your church sounds cool. Most interpret evangelical in a stricter sense, however.
