and see the level of discourse on sites that solicit public comments, the ignorance and hatred of so many rightwing posters is appalling, and one can only feel grateful that there has been a place like this that has served as a refuge for the most part from such nastiness.

It is a credit to the dedication of Skinner, EarlG and Elad who have provided this safe space to us for all these years.
