(128,894 posts)Although given what is going on with a raging pandemic (and about to go into flu season), I think some tend to consider other "possibilities", which is why there is an oft-updated checklist of possible symptoms, some of which don't comport to being due to a run-of-the-mill "cold" or even an allergy.
The bigger issue with this virus is that people get all kinds of combinations and permutations of symptoms when they DO actually have symptoms. Some have a fever but others don't. Some have gastrointestinal problems, others don't. Apparently a strong initial indicator is a "loss of taste" (although even that could be due to a severe sinus blockage and "taste" usually relies on the "smell" ). Another biggy seems to be the tiredness and ache - and to a level that seems to be worse than what a full-blown flu might incur. The initial "common" symptom was apparently shortness of breath.
So it is just a mess.
