What is not known is when he actually "left" the event and was hospitalized nor do they say when he originally arrived there because apparently SD had reported a big pile of "early arrivals" there too. So it's entirely possible that he left early on (it "officially" ran 8/7/20 - 8/16/20), returned home "ill", entered the hospital with severe breathing difficulty, and was put into intensive care immediately (particularly if he had "underlying conditions" ), and remained until he passed away - which could have been several "weeks".
You can't make the assumption that he stayed until the end, came home, then went into the hospital and thus couldn't have been in ICU for "several weeks".
