but, and it's a big one, if Karen is indeed impaired with dementia and sensory aphasia, where was/were the person(s) serving as protective caregivers. Clearly, those conditions, meet the criteria for the need for supervision in public/at home to care for someone who cannot communicate nor understand the need to follow commands. With those conditions, perhaps a TV or cartful of other merchandise rolled out WalMart's door by a "co-conspirator" that was not apprehended? Of course, it's horrible that the officer used unnecessary force, but it's even worse that this woman managed to slip out of necessary supervision or was allowed to "shop" unaccompanied. Will she get the "at home" care required now?
