Because sometimes it's not that people don't actually want children...which there is nothing wrong with, IMO. Having kids doesn't automatically make one's life happier. Though heaven knows I would not trade my kids for the world, but I think you know what I mean. If I had never had them in the first place, I doubt I would have felt incomplete.
Anyway, to my point...my youngest stepdaughter and her husband had two miscarriages in the space of a year.
I haven't asked them...nor would I...if they ever intend to try again, but let me just say that without children (they do have a small dog) they have been able to do lots of traveling.
If they want any "baby-time" they have a nephew in TX, where they live, and a niece up here in MA.
Which is one good thing about other people's kids...you can always give them back to the parents.
