Very popular in Santa Barbara County, especially right along the coast. My former neighborhood in Goleta had a tunnel of jacaranda right around the corner from my house.

My daughter used to complain about getting sticky purple feet on the way to elementary school, but I thought that was a wussy complaint, given the tropical specimens at University of Hawai’i, my alma mater. There was something there that dropped huge seed pods that would glue themselves to my sandals and were quite difficult to scrape off.

Give me purple rain…

I thought jacaranda was an animal, but maybe I'm thinking of jaguarundi. Ocelot II May 2022 #1
Glad you enjoyed it, and it's most definitely a plant, my dear Ocelot II! CaliforniaPeggy May 2022 #2

I'm not sure if they grow in the bay area. It might be too far north. Hope you find one! ♥ CaliforniaPeggy May 2022 #26
