Without that faith in his country and in people,there is no way that his fighting spirit could have survived as long as it has.

You've got my thanks and support for your contributions elsewhere in DU : )I just added to that thread myself.
Really, in many ways, Kerry's speeches (at both Yale and BC, but especially Yale) were really speaking to the people you addressed in your posts.
