19. ONE THING I HAVE NOTICED THIS SUMMER

There are a tremendous number of brand new babies and late-term pregnant women in Ann Arbor. In my observation, women get pregnant when they see no hope of work or any improvement financially. Since childbearing years are limited, and earlier is better for mother and child, this makes efficient use of time that would otherwise be wasted beating one's head on closed doors...
