(60,014 posts)43. Thanks, all, my DU family, for your kind words.
Our house is dog-free for the first time in 37 years. Mocha is not there to eat my apple core - follow me up to bed, crawl underneath - then wake and jump up in the morning to lick my face.
It is the little things that Sue and I will miss, for sure. Not the big vacations with them at the beach (yet they were such fun - Mocha and Buddy had 19 vacations to Ocracoke with us)....it is morning feedings, walks, all the ordinary stuff.

Beautiful character. She looked deeply in love with her life, and friends, and environment.
