2016 Postmortem
In reply to the discussion: The 10 run rule and Bernie [View all]wilt the stilt
(4,528 posts)35. I was the coach
and I am familiar with everything. It really wasn't to protect the kids. We had games on Tuesdays and Thursday games started at 6:30 and there were two games during the weeknights and weekends.
We didn't want kids playing at 11:00 at night.
This is Georgia where sports are extremely serious. The 4th most major leaguers come from Georgia after FL, TX and CA and Georgia has less than half their populations.
The worst athletes play soccer. White suburban kids LOL.
It was to get the games in and I have dealt with a lot of parents. It gets way worse in all stars. parents who were unruly were banned the next couple of games.

That's to protect the toddler's fee-fees from a game their parent's are probably forcing them into.

It's really to protect the kids, the parents, and coach... the byproduct is allowing more games.

Why? This is not baseball and what's up for grabs isn't a cheap trophy and its bragging rights.
