Populist Reform of the Democratic Party

(111,141 posts)is to work our way into the local party structure. I'm afraid populist takeovers are generally a bottom up, labor intensive thing to do. It is also a slow thing to do as the conservative dead wood often has to be carried out of their jobs feet first to make room for populists to move up the feeding chain.
We can also work outside the structure, but it's a bit less effective, by the each one teach one method. It's taken me a lifetime to master talking to conservatives without shoving them into a defensive posture. More than a few of them have said I've made them think about things and folks, that is populist progress, also.
The conservative takeover of everything was done slowly starting in the 1950s. We're going to need to take the long view and be in it for the long haul, too. We will never have their funding. All we have are numbers (if we can convince them) and the truth.
