and, let's not forget, that during his first 2 years in office the Republicans controlled both houses of the legislature. He was the only one who stood between us and the barbarians.

Of course, it was their attempts at overreach (voter ID and anti-same sex marriage amendments) that resulted in the DFL taking over both houses in 2012 (and defeating both the amendments at the polls that November). Sadly, low voter turnout in 2014 resulted in the Republicans getting control of the House - while returning Dayton and Franken to office (go figure). We can only hope Minnesota voters have learned a lesson about showing up.
