(58,785 posts)36. Boy, is all that true. And I imagine candidates are
quite protective of not doing anything that might weaken their prerogatives or lock them in early.
The Republicans are really different. Romney's dilemma when the Kochs pushed Ryan on him was a hoot; and Ryan's when Romney sent him off to campaign Siberia.
Or Trump's when he was trapped haplessly with another Koch-approved replacement. If there is a god, creepily disciplined Pence will have spent years of his life in Nancy Reagan-ish posturing waiting to become president, only to end up with his political career in ruins. And wondering why his lord forsook him.
If I were to vote in a presidential
primary today, I would vote for: Joe Biden

Biden-Harris has been my dream ticket too, but I know she'd be outstanding as Attorney General.

I agree she'd be an outstanding AG (if she isn't the nominee for prez or VP).

Harris hasn't impressed me at all. How about Stacey Abrams, Susan Rice or Valerie Jarrett? nt
