The guy has no political experience that I'm aware of. Deutsch started out in advertising and media branding, so he's obviously pretty good at promoting himself, but that doesn't make him qualified to discuss government or politics. Nevertheless, Donny's been failing upwards for a few years now, so he must have a lot of friends in high places.
Donny was an anchor on MSNBC back in 2010 and was fired after he criticized Keith Olbermann. I'm guessing Deutsch later became a regular panelist on Morning Joe since Scarborough never did seem to get along with Olbermann. Other than his personal relationship with Trump, Cohen and a few other Manhattan sleazeballs, Donnie didn't have much to offer.
Deutsch had a prime-time talk show on CNN in 2013 called "Get to The Point," but it was cancelled after just one week. He also had a comedy series on USA Network in 2015 called "Donny!", with Deutsch playing a fictional version of himself. The series bombed and wasn't renewed.
Now he's dispensing political opinions on his own MSNBC show, and as a contributor on other shows. We'll see how long that lasts.
primary today, I would vote for: Joe Biden
