IOWA CITY, Iowa — Former Vermont Gov. Howard Dean told union members that higher working class wages and increased investment in small business are key components to his plan for economic recovery.

Earlier in the day, Dean, the Democratic front-runner in Iowa, picked up the endorsement of Dick Myers, a state representative from Iowa City.
Myers, the former Democratic minority leader who retired this summer, said he is backing Dean because Dean has a fresh approach to issues, extraordinary ability and the campaign organization needed to win the presidency
“He’s decided to take on President Bush in a very issue-oriented way,” Myers said of the former Vermont governor at a rally earlier in the day in Des Moines
