What is the best way to criticize George W Bush, with ridicule, anger, or |
|
humor, or another way at the Convention? Personally, I think humor and ridicule will be most effective. In my opinion, anger may turn off a lot of viewers. I'm hoping that most of our speakers are not foaming at the mouth but will point out the deficiencies of Bush in a way that will get people to listen. However, as we all know, we have every right in the world to be angry, and it will be difficult to keep our anger under control.

19. 1000 soldiers's lives, tens of thousands of Iraqis's lives, |
|
parts of the constitution, many jobs, the economy, etc., etc. If re-elected, he will destroy Medicare, Social Security, the health care system, etc., etc.
Is your question serious?

Remember how effective his frat-boy smirkiness was against Al Gore's self-righteous indignation in the 2000 presidential debates.

8. he hates being made to look silly by others |
|
and he hates to be questioned or second-guessed
so anything that questions his actions and makes fun of him in the process will piss Bush off

11. I could imagine this little skit..... |
|
Someone imitating Bush could be sitting and reading My Little Goat and someone comes and whispers in his ear that "our country is under attack"...and he would continue to sit there, his eyes darting in all directions, biting his lip, not saying anything, just sitting there looking like he had seen a ghost, just sitting...and sitting...
That would be funny but it would make a very serious point.

21. The good thing about this "skit" |
|
is that they wouldn't even have to DO one - just show the actual footage of the event.

17. How about with the truth |
|
As in, because the man can't think before he acts he's always going to screw things up. And then use the Iraqi "occupation" as an example.

But ridicule doesn't have its basis in truth. In this case, I think it works to our advantage that it does, it so obviously does.

22. satire is clearly the most effective criticism. |
|
I don't think there's any question about that.
Also, rather than focus on taking Bush down, Democrats shold put a lot of effort into lifting Kerry and Edwards up.
