George Bush has succeeded.. He's finally "just like his Daddy".. |
|
Edited on Tue Oct-05-04 03:40 PM by SoCalDem
It appears that he languished for years, in the shadow of a "Big Daddy".. Big Daddy was intelligent (book smarts)..Big Daddy was cunning (in a CIA-ish kind of way)..Big Daddy was brave (he actually WENT to war as a very young guy)..Big Daddy was a successful businessman..
For his whole life, George tried, but never quite measured up.
He has followed in the footsteps of Poppy for years, and always come up short, in stature and in deeds.
The debate was the "equalizer". He has finally matched Big Daddy. Big Daddy was out of touch, bored and only interested in what time it was, during his "waterloo debate".
George, the lesser, may not have gone to war, but after HIS recent debate, he shares the experience of "going down in flames" with his Dear Ole Daddy.. Daddy did it in a plane (killing his "potential SwiftieFlyers"), with real flames (or so HE said)..
George has finally matched his Poppy is SOMETHING..
Give the guy a medal :)

2. And I think JK gave Bush a little Dad-style scare. |
|
Bush was bested by a taller, smarter, more athletic, more experienced, more statesman-like guy who actually went to war and won medals -- just what he's been trying to live up to all his life.
Although I hate to compare that scummy geezer to Kerry.

3. It always annoyed me when people said that Gore only went to Nam |
|
to take the heat off his Daddy..when in REALITY, the 18 yr old Poppy went to war during a time when HIS Daddy was actually censured by congress for dealing with the NAZIs..
At least Gore was a grown man.. Prescott sent his TEENager to war to take the heat off him..:puke:

no one has vetted it.. Google George HW Bush+war, and watch the exact phraseology come up in almost ALL the articles..
It's amazing that a man who was PRESIDENT has such a sketchy bio.. There is information ad nauseum about his "oil patch" days, yet what should have been his "defining moments" of his personal history, is deliberately vague..
The Paula Zahn "Flyboy" crap is about the only thing that is "known" about his war history..
Most people who have actually been to war, eventually tell their war tales, and have them verified. Just like his "boy", there are precious few pictures of Big Daddy with buddies, or any different variations of his war hsitory..
When Big Daddy was in office as vice president, his fellow flyboys should have come out of the woodwork to claim him.. Did they?? NOPE !!
Just like his 'boy'.. no friends willing to claim him

6. Too late to edit.. Did we even SEE George, the father's wartime records? |
|
or did we (and the press) just accept what he said as gospel?? Every time they play Flyboy, and I can't work the remote fas enough, it GAGS me to hear him puffing up his "miraculous mission"..

7. It won't be complete until |
|
he's kicked out of office after a single "term" (I use that word loosely because he was never a real President to begin with).

he did not do any research,,.The scanner blew his mind.. I would never expect a president to go to the A&P, but for pete's sake...Would it have killed him to at least read up on the way supermarkets had changed since 1955???

9. Big Daddy, at the very least, had the restraint not to go into Baghdad |
|
Though I didn't agree with his politics, I'd say it takes a lot more than just 'book smarts' to have reached the positions he did.
Big Daddy was cunning (in a CIA-ish kind of way)
CIA-ish? Yeah, I guess. In case you missed the memo, he was the Director of the CIA. Lucky for him he was cunning in a FBI-ish way ;-)
