Bush supporter's talk of a mandate is no way to achieve 'unity' |
|
No matter what the popular vote, this country is almost equally divided in their support for Bush, and even more opposed to him on issues like Social Security, Iraq, the environment, health care, abortion, and a bevy of social and foreign policy concerns.
'Unity' will not come at the expense of capitulation by those who oppose him on the issues and concerns that we sincerely believe represent life or death to us. Unity with Bush and his agenda will not come from the abandonment of our principles just so he can destroy Social Security, rape our lands for his industry cronies and contributors, bomb and kill innocents to defend his notion of freedom, and strip us of our hard fought for rights with his heavy handed government.
Bush never cared about our needs and concerns and I don't see any use in giving him or any of the republicans any more room to roll over the rest of the things we fight so hard to protect, preserve, and defend. We must resist with every breath. We must never compromise with the thieves in the White House or with their accomplices in the Congress.
I don't care what effect it will have on the next election. If we lose again because of where we stand it will be harsh, but at least we will be able to recognize ourselves in the mirror as the kind, decent, caring party that we have always striven for, not a mutation of these ruling corporatist legislators and leaders.

1. That's absolutely correct. He's not going to work for our trust |
|
at all. Once he says he has a mandate it means that the election is a reflection that the voters have sided with his agenda. I don't know why the media bothers to give him air time. I've already shut off the t.v. because I'm tired of seeing his lying lips move.

2. Bush Unity is like a bully saying "do it my way." |
|
He rules by bullying and intimidation. Look at McCain. You could almost read the threat from * on his face: "you will do this MY way, or I will destroy you."
