Did You Hear of Georgie's Tour Aimed at Democrats?? |
|
Apparently Georgie is going to set out for a tour of various states where certain Dems are up for re-election in '06 and might be in trouble AND here is going to launch his bid for his social security reforms. I'm not sure they realize something.
There is a large subdivision of his followers who are at odds with him on this. It's the group of people about 50-ish on up through elderly who are retired or thinking about retirement and who want those 'gays' and abortion banned but who don't want nobody messin' with their ss and medicare!! I suggest that the targeted Dems follow the bastard into their states and blast the people about what Bush and his corporate con men are trying to do to them. They might even remind them that Bush recently admitted there were no WMDS, and ask if someone who lied us into war should be listened to when he's trying to steal out of our back pockets???
I would think that if the Dems use their brains, this could be a real boost to getting their seats back and something their rival might want to run from.

1. He'd be better off in Washington DC tending to business...if you get my |
|
drift. His magical mystery tour is supposed to 'rally' support on his d.o.a. Social Security 'dead horse'. If I were a Dem in the House or Senate I'd be sending riding crops to the White House for George to either beat the dead horse with or to beat the livin' #$@* out of those repubs he's supposed to have power of life and death over.

3. Bush is visiting states whose Democratic senators |
|
might be pressured to back personal Social Security accounts. Those senators are Max Baucus of Montana, Kent Conrad of North Dakota, Blanche Lincoln of Arkansas, Bill Nelson of Florida and Ben Nelson of Nebraska.
Don't know about the rest but Baucus is saying no way to Stingy's SS plan. First time Max has acted like a Democrat in his career.

Won't surprise me in the least to see them and the other appeasers go along with this. In fact I expect it.

6. All-organize protests & hand out flyers on the REAL SSI story. |
|
This is a great chance to galvanize opposition to Bush's under-handed attempt to destroy Social Security. I saw a poll today that said 95% of people oppose cutting SSI benefits, but that's what Bush's plan would ultimately do.
We need letters to the editors in the tour areas ahead of time. Plan rallies for those who oppose ANY cuts in SSI and ANY privatization. Plan them the same day as the President's tour stops--as close by as feasible. Fax and e-mail announcements of your rally to local media, then call each station and newspaper the day before and day of to make sure theywill be sending a camera crew.
It should be EASY to get folks of all ages and all parties to come to a rally in support of saving social security--and have a speaker or two explaining why the Bush plan is a terrible idea.

7. Did Clinton ever snipe Repug members of Congress by actively campaigning |
|
against them in their home state? These tactics feel very unpresidential somehow.
