What candy are you passing out tonight? |
|
I'm going the chocolate and peanut butter route: Reeses Mix (cups, pieces, some sort of new candy bar they have, and the peanut butter on the outside cups) and Butterfingers. I always like those as a kid :-)

10. I was thinking about that... |
|
Let's take a look how our generation was raised. I'm not sure if anyone can relate to this or not, but this is my story as a boomer. When we were kids, we had to go through all our candy because one of our neighbors might want to drug us or kill us. If we wanted to take a walk around the neighborhood, the parents would solemnly warn us about kidnappers. Fear, fear, fear.
Not ONCE in my lifetime have I found any Trick-or-Treat candy that has been tampered with. We were raised in such a fear-based environment. It's just sad, and my daughter wonders why I'm so paranoid about her safety.

anything that was opened had to go. Some crazy old lady down the street always gave out apples and we just couldn't eat them. SHe probably had no idea that they were going to waste.

I mean, Dum-Dums, those little suckers that come in flavors like Cream Soda and Apple.
They're inexpensive, and you don't have to worry about kids who have allergies to chocolate or nuts.

We haven't gotten any trick-or-treaters since we moved here six years ago - all the kids go to the town Halloween Parade and Party.
So we didn't buy anything this year.

We never got any trick or treaters in Denver either. A woman in our neighborhood (In Boston) now posts up signs and you can call to have your house added to the trick or treat route, then she makes a list and gives them to parents that wants them. I think it's a great idea. Trick or treating runs from 5-8 and then she hosts a party at her house afterwards :-)

16. We missed trick-or-treating yesterday |
|
It's not like anyone would have come. Our town is so lame. Trick-or-treating was Saturday from 1 to 3 pm. What fun is that? It's like they want them to go somewhere else. Our first year here, we put our light on which was tough to see in the afternoon anyway and had 2 trick-or-treaters.

I wanted to get little bags of Smartfood, but they were sold out, so I decided on chips. Not quite as inducing of hyperactivity and a little healthier. I figure they'll get plenty of candy without me anyway. :D
