Major mechanical failures are seriously ruining my day |
|
OK- so Wednesday morning I go to get juice boxes for the kids lunches and the refrigerator freezer we have in the basement is dead. Muerto. Hut geshtorben. Morte. Everything is warm and melted and stinky.
So I call Sears (it is under warranty) and the next day Carmine comes to fix it. No go. Compressor is dead. Morte. You get the picture. They are back ordered- could take a month! SO they agree to replace the thing with a new unit- sounds good, eh? (I'm practicing for the move to Toronto). So Friday we go to the local Sears to pick out a replacement unit and they tell us Joy! A compressor has been located, ordered and will be at my home Saturday, and a technician will be there Monday to repair it.
Great. So Saturday comes and Saturday at 3, no compressor. I call them up and they tell me none has been ordered, I've been authorized for a replacement. So needless to say three hours of telephone calls ensued, with the denouement bring yes they'll get me a new one, but can't deliver it till Wednesday.
OK so I have Thanksgiving here on Thursday how am I supposed to do this- where do I keep the friggin bird??????
I'm going there now to scream- But not until I retrieve my car which I brought in for inspection expecting to replace the starter and front brakes and came out having to replace not only those things, but rear brake rotors, pads and an axle boot (WTF is an axle boot) Nearly 1200 dollars later, I can take home my 95 Camry with 98,000 miles on it. Shit. I can't really afford a new car now. I was waiting till now hoping I'd be helping a Kerry economy improve. I put off lots of major purchases because I didn't want to prop up the idiot.
Sorry- I had to rant- and I couldn't get to Blockbuster on time, so now I owe money on the frigging kids videos too.
AGH~!

5. They'll Deliver it on Monday |
|
I called the supervisor and managed to get a Monday delivery. That at least gives me time to get the thing cool and do my shopping Tuesday so I can start cooking on Wednesday. PHEW! (As long as they really show up!)
And they will apply my extended warranty to the new unit, beginning when the new warranty on the new unit expires. So all in all, as long as they show on Monday, that worked out.
And the kid at Blockbuster didn't charge me the late fees.
My car, on the other hand.........
Thanks for the support guys, it's been one of those days.
