Well, tomorrow we move - using our 4-cylinder car to tow a trailer with our belongings from Oklahoma to Maine. This is really going to be a shock to the wallet, since we use our little 50cc scooter almost exclusively.
... just rambling aimlessly.

I did a similar move in 1987 from Mass to Calif, and when the car hit the high marks, my fuel pump crapped out on me. I was in Utah when it burst the water pump hose.
Check with your mechanic to see if there is anything you might need to take just to be on the safe side.
Also check your radiator. I had a crummy 1-core radiator when it shit the bed, and that's part of why the water pump went.

look good, but I've also had a mechanic look it over. In addition, I added a power steering cooler and a transmission cooler.
The weight of the trailer (including the trailer itself) should be about 750 pounds, then some clothes in the trunk, our dog, and the wife and I, so I don't think I'll be putting /too/ much strain on it.

you had it checked out. I came across in an 1978 Ford Granada, a huge boat, with a "bubble" trailer. There was significant weight in both. The trailer was designed for one or two people to sleep, eat and relax in. I had the three cats with me as well, so I didn't get much opportunity to see much.
Are you going up to Missouri then up to Route 70? I found 50 to 70 was the best route to follow. You can skirt the business loop in Pittsburgh which will help traffic-wise from 79, then back to 70. Once you get to New England, the distances between cities disappear to an extent, so the roads aren't as boring.
Regardless, have a great trip and don't forget to sightsee along the way. Driving 10 hours a day is a royal pain, but if you enjoy it along the way, it takes some of the stress away.
