How do you pronounce route? |
|
And then, how do you pronounce "router" (as in cable/computer router)
Just curious.

11. ROOT. Like in the song "Route 66"! And the other is "ROWTER," like in "BOW-WOW." |
|
Newsflash: Many words have diff3erent pronunciations for the identical or similar spellings.

22. I used to pronounce it Raut, but since I'm probably going to move to Cda someday, I begun using Root |
|
The rest of the world and most of the northeast uses Root.
I also came to the realization I was saying Root 66 all these years. Why just for that particular highway and none of the others?
I don't know of any other pronunciation for Router except for rauter.

"root", as a verb "rowt". A "rowter" (router) for either the computer peripheral, or the tool for hollowing out wood.
