Poll question: I am trying to get started selling soy hand poured candles. Trying to come |
|
Edited on Sun Nov-13-11 12:30 PM by amyrose2712
up with a name. In my first brain storming session this is what I have come up with.(Please cut me some slack too, because I am more the lab geek end of this. Unfortunately, I am also the creative/marketing end too since I am the ONLY end. Anyway, which do you think is better. And these are just preliminary ideas. I was told to think of what I am trying to convey to the consumer, and this is it: eco-friendly, hand made, alluring , happiness, peaceful, natural... The candles smell "divine" and "delicious" and have had some wonderful feedback with the ones I have gifted but this is the part that terrifies me.:hide: :hide: :hide:

1. I voted for Peace Love and Soy, but |
|
I also like Soy Enlightenment.
I think there are some good choices there! You're being too hard on yourself :)
When you get going, you should come up with a special DU scent candle and we can buy it..split the proceeds between you and DU or a charity. Later on, of course. Keep us posted..I'm such a candle freak my husband calls me a 'wax addict' :)

23. Soy Saucy is actually really good. |
|
It's very pregnant with marketing possibilities. I'm pretty good at the creative/marketing thing. Also, it appears to be available.

24. Do you remember when Pringles first came out? The canister had a crimped lining. |
|
It was PERFECT for making candles. The lining would peel right off after the wax dried and the candle would have ridges running all around it. That was fun.

27. No one likes the Shameless Scentsations huh. |
|
Figures, that's my fav. Shameless cause they are soy and eco-friendly. But I've been told it could be too sexual. One person said it made him think of Girl Farts. Hmmmmph. Of course it's not taken. maybe there is a reason! Bah!

29. Branding is extremely important. |
|
If your candles catch fire (pun intended :) ) then you want to be able to capitalize on the enthusiasm and be able to branch out. Something too "cutesy" or item specific will limit you in the future. The idea here is to come up with a name that defines your company philosophy and direction. Most of the names I've seen here are great for individual but may be a little limiting for future growth. It sounds like you have a great product so definitely spend some time on this area of your business and best of luck to you!

31. I agree. But I am having a hard time with this. |
|
I am doing really well with the production side. I am/was a science major. Branding/marketing not so much. Hence the plea for help. Thanks. Even the Shameless too narrow huh?
