i also drive 2 elderly neighbors to the polls, it's kind of become a voting day tradition.

47%??? Is that right? I had no idea that many people used absentee. I probably just unformed, but that's amazing. Plus, it means people are passionate about our political system and want their vote counted no matter where they are the day of the election.

Californians have already voted. That's pretty close to the total turnouts in past elections, isn't it? Maybe I wasn't clear with my original question, but a while back voting absentee was proposed as a technique to ensure your vote had a paper trail.
