Mail-in and Early Ballots Show Party Registration |
|
I requested and received my mail-in ballot. In Arizona, verification of mail-in and early ballots is done by matching the voter's signature on the outside of the ballot with the signature on file. This did not bother me too much since, as I understand it, the signature is matched before the envelope is opened. This means that the person matching the signatures cannot know how the ballot was cast. However, the envelope DOES display the voter's Party registration, so they will know that I'm a Democrat!
I do not really think that it would be practical for someone in the recorder's office to reject a large number of ballots based on being pickier about signatures from a particular party, but if someone wanted to dump a bunch of ballots, it's a convenient way for the "right" ballots to get lost.
Why is party registration printed on the outside of a GENERAL election ballot envelope????

1. Probably because Az. is still a territory |
|
pretending to be a state.
As far as I'm concerned, if the Republicans are able to hold onto their power on Novemnber7, it will be as a result of voter fraud .. because the Republicans are NOT democratic.

4. I'm not seeing it..... |
|
I have my envelope in my hand and I see my name, my precinct and district numbers, (District 1 Wildhorse Precinct 109) and a bar code with a 10 digit number below it (registration ID number that matches my card). Where are you seeing party affiliation on the outside of the envelope? I'm not saying its not there, just that I can't find it.

6. What county are you in? |
|
I have the three letter code "GEN" next to my name which I took to mean "general election"
Nothing of party affiliation. I'm in Yavapai County.
Can you scan it and post it? Maybe with your name and address blurred out?
That shouldn't be there.

I don't have enough posts to do it.
Something about this seems SO WRONG.

14. Maricopa county here and no party on the envelope, thank |
|
goodness since we're a large county.
I hope everyone is considering Prop 205 which would cause a mail ballot be sent to every registered voter each election.
I also support Prop 200 that provides a million dollar lottery type prize for all those voting.
I figure it will get more of the vote out, which generally is a good thing for the liberals, Dems.
