I'm moving to Moneta, on Smith Mountain Lake, and I haven't found |

a progressive radio station in Roanoke. Is the Charlottesville Air America station's signal a strong one, and can you hear it near Roanoke? If not, I may just invest in XM radio.
Anyone know? Thanks~!

1. 103.1 is a really cool radio station out of C'ville that I recently "discovered" |
|
New to me anyway. I don't know if it reaches to the Star City area though.

I live about 15 mins from Moneta and the closest thing to progessive is 89.1 NPR. Might want XM...but I'll try the Hoo-ville station and see.

3. We've since moved here, and I've found 89.1. |

I know some people feel that NPR in general is a conservative radio site, but I've not found that with WVTF. I enjoy it. Thanks for the info :)

If you're not too far away, 89.5 is another NPR station that is mostly all news & talk and no music. But I think it's out of Charlottesville so it may be too far away for the lake. By the way, Smith Mountain lake rocks!!! Many great memories I've made there...
