I'm sorry but I have to post this today. I have a few very distant relatives living in Germany and someone I know will be leaving for Germany soon. Is it true, that in public in toilets in Germany, they make you pay for the toilet paper?

but for using the toilet.
It isn't awful expensive and it helps to keep them clean. You can also go to the toilet in teh big shopping houses (Kaufhaus, Karstadt). Normally the fee there is on a free basis. Just give the person who sits there 20 cents and then it is OK.
