3. I would like to suggest you use Bittorrent technology,
which could allow you to easily post 700 megabyte videos en masse withouth paying a lot for bandwidth.

You post a link to a small file with information on copies of the file on the machines of other people that downloaded it, and we could download it from other DUers with broadband instead of from one single machine, usually at a higher speed as well.

Pm me or ask here if this sounds interesting, it is not much of a hazzle at all to set up and it does not mean people have to install adware or spyware on their computers.

4. This Is Why We Lose
Edited on Tue Apr-12-05 08:36 PM by Joeve
From Jello Biafra:

There's nothing cops and corporations love more than to sit back and watch us turn off everyone we think we're trying to help by splitting into nitpicky, backbiting, power-hungry factions and tearing each other apart. "I wanna be leader." "No, I wanna be leader." "No, I wanna be leader." "No, I wanna be leader." Bla, bla, backstab, backstab. If you don't agree with me on everything than you must be against me. That's poison. Anyone who's not a vegetarian is automatically evil. All hip-hop is bad because some gangstas are sexist. If you don't believe every word of the Bible, you're a devil worshipper. If you're not gay, you must be homophobic. Look at me wrong, you're racist. Criticize Israel, oh, you hate Jews. Wear lipstick, you can't be a feminist. Divide, divide, divide. Let the powerful few keep the quarreling majority from sharing in what is rightfully everyone's. And speaking of divide, most pathetic of all: "The only important thing in the whole world is the punk rock scene." And you're a sell-out traitor to the whole punk rock scene if you so much as disagree with me in any way, listen to music I don't like, dress funny, dress normal, laugh without permission, or even so much as speak to any artist who made a dime off their years of hard work, without at least beating them up first. Wake up and smell the noise. In these days we can't afford to get caught up in blind fundamentalism of any kind. There's too many different kinds of people in this world, in this country, in this building, to hide behind one-issue isolationist chickenshit anymore.

I'm downloading the first Cynthia Mc link now. It is kinda slow, but I'm sure it's well worth it.

8. SO SORRY it's slow because my SONY records in VERY HIGH
quality, so it's a crisp video when you get it..

but some VERY AWESOME DU folks have sent me email and this morning I will convert to a lower rate so it can be MUCH more easily downloaded... don't think folks need the high format for now...

but VERY VERY WORTH IT, I love cynthia's personality, she really made my day when she arrived...

FIXED Cynthia3 link so that's available for download too!

12. Yeah, or use Bit torrent technology
which would allow us to download it Fast, in high quality, reliably even on a shaky dialup or satelite deep in sahara, and at no cost to you or us. I also hope this thread can be a way to reach other people that post media here.

I am not trying to intimidate you, this is simply the best way of doing it and if DUers with broadband leave what they download in their "inboxes", media posted here will be available for a much longer time, like years from now with just a few people making little or no effort.

7. If you're interested in hearing about Nashville from people who helped ...
... then visit the thread "I Showed Up...". We will be making high-quality (and authorized) copies of the audio and video available soon. We hope to begin web-streaming the audio within a week. If you are interested in better quality (and authorized) audio and video from the conference, please PM me and we'll put you on the list. Thanks to so many people who helped make this conference a success. It made putting up with the very few dangerous distractors there much more tolerable.

11. QUOTE FROM TAO

"If I have even just a little sense,
I will walk on the main road and my only fear will be
of straying from it.
Keeping to the main road is easy,
But people love to be sidetracked.

When the court is arrayed in splendor,
The fields are full of weeds,
And the granaries are bare.
Some wear gorgeous clothes,
Carry sharp swords,
And indulge themselves with food and drink;
They have more possessions than they can use.
THey are robber barons.
This is certainly not the way of the Tao."

-Lao Tsu
