Kerry wanted Voters to handle legal process not Candidates? |
|
From his concession speech:
"In America it is vital that every vote count, and that every vote be counted. But the outcome should be decided by voters, not a protracted legal process. "
Votes have to be certified before they can be challenged so if Kerry is waiting maybe December 6th is the date.
It has not been a protracted legal process that he created but a short process that we citizens are doing now to protect our right to vote in our great democracy and the integrity of the election.

spare me more of the "how can we read between the lines of kerry's concession speech"!!!
Not to come down on you... but, jesus christ, the guy DUCKED OUT. There is no message to be revealed with our secret decoder rings!!!
He left. The only question is: What are WE, the people, going to do about the vote?
Sorry, really not trying to offend you. I just wish we could get over the guy who abandoned us.

We sat on our collective asses while Al Gore and his lawyers tried to contest Florida. We listened to the Republican corporate media incessantly tell us what a "sore loserman" he was to do it.
By the time SCOTUS gave it to Bush, we were all conditioned to accept the defeat without so much as a whimper.
Seems to me that Kerry's early exit opened the door to a lot of grassroots activism that will snowball with his re-entry back into the ring. He's forced us to be co-owners in this fight. And he's kept the media out of the dialogue. Too late for the media to play the same loserman tune, because the story is evolving into a voter fraWd issue.
If he chickened out, why would he now decide to raise expectations by jumping back in? Seems he's gotten a good look at the evidence and he likes what he sees.
Of course, if he does fold again, it'll be the end of his career. I gotta believe he's all in now to the bitter (or sweet) end.

7. We sure did sit on our collective asses during election 2000... |

God... I can't even believe MY thinking then. I actually thought, "gee, jeb bush wouldn't compromise his integrity by getting involved to influence the vote for his brother." Wow, incredible naivite on my part. I was delusional about the forces that are about us.
I just can't make the jump from "kerry bowed out to ALLOW us to fight for our rights". It doesn't follow. though, I hope you are right.

6. Kerry Worked His Ass Off, and got more votes than Bush |
|
He won the election. Bush stole it. We helped Kerry get it back.

2. That's what he said and he sure hasn't tried to stop it... |
|
in fact he's gently promoted it.
Jackson campaigned for Kerry and they are telling a story.
Who said Democrats don't have a narritive.

3. One problem with your theory |
|
It's only the CANDIDATES who can sue or ask for recounts -- at least in most states and probably all. They're the only ones with "legal standing."
Being an attorney himself and someone who's run for office a bunch of times, I think Kerry is very well aware of that. And now you are too.
