I know that the husband is self employed. I am wondering if they have health insurance that will cover what will be astronomical hospital costs to bring this baby along.

19. I don't know for sure, but I suspect that the paycheck they receive |
|
from TLC for appearing on the show is substantial and allows them to purchase health care coverage for the entire bunch. They also have income from the commercial properties the husband owns. They aren't hurting.

21. How many little girls should be raised to have no idea they have rights? |
|
How many young girls should be raised isolated from society with no idea that they have rights beyond being a brood mare? How many young boys should be brought up to only see females as slaves and birthing machines? How many people in our so called "free" society should be permitted to be completely isolated and brainwashed from birth? How long should a family profit from breeding via TV? Who pays their health care when we have so many far more responsible people doing without in this country? Why should someone make a living on TV for being irresponsible parents who hand their babies off to another child to raise and immediately have another one?
Why and how do we see extremist fundamentalists and harmless to our society when they despise our society so much that they separate their children from it and want to change our laws to suite them?

31. It is irresponsible to add 19 fucking kids to an overpopulated planet that is being destroyed. |
|
Overpopulation is the root problem. Although the original poster was being facetious about spaying her, they are being extraordinarily irresponsible.
She needs to be de-programmed from the cult thinking she is serving her god by having children.

35. Overpopulating the planet with consumers |
|
There is a big difference between the level of consumption here in the Western world and that in say India or Bangladesh.
I do agree that over population is a problem - but the lifestyle is also a big factor as well.
Why would anyone in their right mind choose to do this - well I guess that answers my question.

38. No, overpopulation really trumps overconsumption. |
|
The notion that there is enough food, so overpopulation is less important, is nonsense. Every additional person destroying the Earth's ecosystems needs AND EXPECTS more than just food.
They want transportation, clean water, energy, land, shelter, commerce, communications, and all of this means more byproducts, solid waste, waste water, used energy resources, carbon emissions, destroyed natural resources.
Most important, there is a group of people using overconsumption to try to minimize the importance of overpopulation. This should be called out early and often.

But they relinquished any rights to privancy when they decided to profit from their life story by publishing it on TV. They put themselves in the public realm, anyone's opinion on them is valid. You are free not to comment on them.

Interviews with the kids who end up on the psych ward from the results of their wonderful parenting and "loving" religion. We will probably have to wait on this for a few years, but whoever replaces Opra could have a field day with the poor messed up kids.

The sympathy watchers. The Duggars would have to be especially careful to remember the poor baby's name for that shoot. Of course they would already be planning for the next one, or next grandchild, or both.
Gotta keep those fundies coming so you can take over the country with numbers and get some "God fearing" morality back into society.

28. I haven't decided, nor is it for me to decide such things. It's a free country. |
|
But given that, I am free to express my opinion of the situation. I don't think highly of people who have so many children that they can't possible meet their emotional needs, and I do believe that applies to the Duggars. The older girls are surrogate mothers for the younger kids.
And it sounds like Goodwife Duggar just lies around all day waiting for hubby to boink her, then lies around her entire pregnancy trying to keep the babies from falling out.
Disgusting.
Oh, and you need remedial reading. I said nothing about the size of her vagina.

With the Duggars it's children, with the folks involved with the housing crisis it's a bigger and bigger house. People don't know when to stop these days.

You realize that in about three kids, if the economy keeps up the way it is, Jim Bob's going to have to gather his brood around and inform them he's had no choice but to sell them all for scientific experiments.

When I had my daughter, my doc cautioned me to not become pregnant too soon again since I had iron and calcium issues and had undergone a c-section. He said they recommend waiting at least 18mo to 2 yrs for everything to return to normal again. That's what I keep thinking about every time the topic of the Duggars come up. She's been a non-stop baby factory for years.
I hope the little baby is fine, but 3 months is awfully early. My doc also said that gallbladder issues can follow pregnancy pretty closely. I had problems after my son was born and celebrated his 3month birthday by having my gallbladder out. I'm just thankful I didn't have any bad attacks while pregnant!
