2. Just did! I knew they were going to kill someone major off... |
|
and frankly, I saw it coming that it would be her, but still.... One would think there would be a lot of questions for Dexter next season.... After all, don't you think at least one of Arthur's family would mention knowing Dexter?
Great season, though. I think John Lithgow is a fantastic actor and he certainly showed it in this role.

4. I am watching it tonight. The buildup has been so terrific. What a show. |
|
I hate that it's gory and all but it's as well written and acted as Six Feet Under was, IMHO. NO spoilers!!

I had a bad feeling all through the season that this was going to happen! I wonder how he is going to be a single Dad next season!

http://www.seattlepi.com/tvguide/413245_tvgif14.htmlDexter's John Lithgow Talks About the Shocking Finale By NATALIE ABRAMS TV GUIDE
Dexter may have killed Arthur Mitchell, aka the Trinity Killer (John Lithgow), in the Season 4 finale of Dexter, but not before Trinity murdered Dexter's wife Rita (Julie Benz). TVGuide.com sat down with Lithgow at the Dexter finale party Sunday to hear his thoughts on the game-changing developments. Lithgow also discussed how the serial killer was almost spared from Dex's table and if he'll be returning to the show post-mortem.
TVGuide.com: First off, the season finale of Dexter was just heartbreaking. John Lithgow: Isn't that something? "Wow" is the word.
TVGuide.com: Trinity is so far from what we've ever seen you play. Lithgow: Well, that was exactly what I loved about it. I knew I really had it in my power to shock people, not just because it was a great role and brilliantly written, but because of everything that I've been doing for the last 10 years. I'm most familiar to people as the very amiable, ridiculous character Dick Solomon . The Trinity Killer's first victim was High Commander Dick Solomon. I just shocked the daylights out of people, including my wife. At the end of every episode, she'd look at me as if to say, "Who are you?!"
TVGuide.com: Did you know from the beginning that Arthur was going to die at the end of the season? Lithgow: Yes, I did. On the other hand, they kept calling audibles. They changed things based on how the first several episodes went. I know they had long discussions: "Should we let Arthur get away, disappear for a season and then come back again?" That's what they did with Keith Carradine and it was incredibly effective. I think Arthur was so bad that they knew blood had to be spilled, especially when they came up with the final image of the episode. What an appalling, unforgivable thing to do. There had to be retribution.

8. Fill me in. They brought back Keith Carradine, as what? Was he a killer? |

9. Keith Carradine came back in his original role--as an FBI agent |
|
as he had been in a previous season. Only this time, he was retired, but determined to track down the Trinity killer, an investigation that the FBI had not given appropriate priority. He gets back with Dexter's sister and they work on the Trinity serial killings together, until he is murdered (and she seriously wounded) in a parking lot.

11. Somehow my husband and I |
|
thought this was supposed to be the final episode of the show. We were sad and then confused when we saw the ending. It was a perfect ending for a season ending but not for an entire show. I was so glad when I found out there was going to be another season! I hate that I love this show. But love it I do.

I would laugh if Dexter hooked up with Trinity's family. From one serial killer to the next.

I was shocked by what happened to Rita but also...now Debra knows Dexter is the brother of the Ice Truck Killer. She is going to look at him in new ways now. To tell you the truth I was more saddened by Lundy's death than Rita's. Dexter as a single dad of three is a scary thought. And just think how guilty he will feel knowing that he could have just let Arthur die before when he was going to jump off the roof. He could have prevented Rita's death. On the other hand he did save a little boy's life with an heroic effort.
Oh, and Masuka is HIGH-larious.

15. I don't know how Dexter is going to juggle |

having a full time job, being a single father as well as a serial killer.
Maybe Debra will move in with him; I wonder if she is not going to find out about his secret life? She is an excellent detective.
Agree with you about Masuka :toast:
