Very basic question. Can I take any basic mouse with USB connector and plug it into MacBook and it will work. Don't need any fancy mouse functions.

I'd stay away from Apple mice, though: every single one I've had pretty quickly stopped working correctly -- the clicking would jam or the scroll nub would die or something

I've been using Logitech with various Macs over the past 8-9 years. I use one with my G4 Apple laptop when it's doing duty as a desktop.
