I'm new to this cd burning and have some ?s |
|
Sometimes the burner will tell me that the thing I'm trying to burn is the wrong format, is there someway to change formats and get them on the cd? This thing had me ready to throw anything handy yesterday, I kept getting fatal error messages and restarts, I went to the task manager and shut down something called scheduler daemon and things have been just fine since then. Is there someway of turning this off permanantly? It's just a cheapie burner I'll put a better one in in the future.

i use Nero Express to burn music from my hard drive to CD's ... some of the music on my hard drive are "mp3" files and some are "wma" files ... Nero doesn't seem to recognize "wma" files ...
there are all kinds of "converters" available than can modify the Codecs (i think that's the right term) to reformat your music files to something compatible with the software you're using ... the problem you're having is more likely to be software related than hardware ...
to find a converter program, type something like the following into a search engine: "convert wma to mp3 free software" ... you'll get all kinds of choices ...
as for shutting off your "Task Scheduler" permanently, do the following: 1. open "Control Panel" from your start menu 2. open the "Administrative Tools" folder 3. open the "Services" folder 4. scroll down to "Task Scheduler" 5. right click on "Task Scheduler" and choose "Properties" 6. change the "Startup Type" to either "manual" or "disabled" (instead of "Automatic") 7. click "OK" and reboot
it might be a good idea after "rebooting" to check the property again to ensure that the change you made has been retained ...
hope this helps ...
