There are some black people who are angry at Obama right now
Because they say he "blinked" and "apologized" to Crowley. All over the news, they're saying Obama caved in, and some blacks are angry that he didn't speak up. But he did speak up, initially.

4. They claim he did
I'm almost at the point now where I'm saying "so what if he did?" Some black people want Obama to be Malcolm X and that's not going to happen. When he said the cops acted stupidly it wasn't a racial statement. That's what those on the both extremes of this debate don't seem to understand.

2. They will figure it out.
IT wasn't about hardening into a position of no conversation.

Why don't you provide some links, cause this "some Black people are angry" ain't gonna get it.

3. Oh, please. The very vocal few on both sides
refuse to be placated. I'm not saying that we should roll over and pretend profiling doesn't exist, but President Obama to me chose his words very carefully and I don't see an apology in them. As far as blinking, perhaps in so far as he is the president and could single-handily bring the argument down a thousand to a civil level of discussion. Who else could do it since Gates nor Crowley is backing down? How quickly people forget the police department blinked first and dropped all charges. What is so wrong with bringing both sides together??? As a matter of fact, it was Crowley suggesting they come together for beer at the White House.

First of all, in my take of it, the president said, Crowley is a good man but no matter how much of an expert he is in racial sensitivity, he could not handle such a charged situation. No apology there.

Second of all, Obama defended his decision to step in it, "Whether I were black or white, I think that me commenting on this -- and hopefully contributing to constructive, as opposed to negative, understandings about the issue -- is part of my portfolio."

I think either side can take this however they feel. Part of my portfolio to me means, he will speak up if something of this magnitude occurs again, albeit with more tempered words.

6. Girl, pay no attention to that mess. They will find one person and
parade him or her all over the news as if they represent all black people. Nobody I know is mad at the President. Forget them, they love to sow dissension wherever they can.

9. Funny you should bring this up
My loctician thinks he caved. But I don't think she's angry, just disappointed.

10. I'm so out of it. I had to look up the meaning of Loctician.
:hi: I just tuned into Morning Meeting on MSNBC and noticed the talking heads were actually discussing, not just the Gates incident, but the fact that this happens all the time, and get this: With Actual State Statistics. So while your loctician is disappointed, I was too a little bit, but I'm sure he/she will be more satisfied knowing the discussion does continue and hopefully will bring down the stats.

11. The media is so full of it
They keep trying to create a controversy. We have ficticious anger by the so called black community for an apology that never happened. He said he could have chosen a different word but stood by his statement.

The press tried to do the same thing with Michael Jackson. They claimed that some black people were miffed because he hadn't released a statement. He replied that he knows many black people and hadn't heard of anyone being miffed.

12. I didn't hear an apology more so than a clarification.
People are just silly and want to be angry.
