Faux News said no Senate Dems would talk to them re: Alito. |
|
They said they have asked all Dems to come and speak about the Alito hearings for the past two days and all of them have declined their offer. I love it! Why give them any ammunition? All they do is smear the Dems any time they come on anyway. I think they should all refuse to go on that network forever. Then they would be forced to take info on Dems from other sources. Just give them leftovers, so to speak, and not a meal.

3. Democrats should not talk to anyone from FAUX |
|
That would help expose their fair and balanced bull shit. When anyone who speaks up on any FAUX program just gets shut down anyway so why bother.

How so? You imply that what the democrats say and think is a bad thing and should not be spoken in public with statements like that. It pisses me off when they don't speak-out against something they oppose.

8. The point is that Fox News is a propaganda front for the Bush |
|
Edited on Wed Jan-11-06 08:37 AM by Dhalgren
Empire and that if all Democrats would simply end any and all relationships with that propaganda tool it would show that "network" for what it is. The Democrats should continue to speak out on other networks and should be upfront about why they refuse to have any dealings with the pigs at Fox...

...that it gives FOX News and Bush more of an advantage if you just run and hide? I disagree. Without someone there to speak their point of view and get the facts straight, I see it giving FOX and republicans a huge advantage as they can pretty much have all the time to themselves, say anything they want without any opposition, they can say the democrats don't have a leg to stand on that's why they won't show their faces and here is what we believe the democrats are really thinking and why they are too chickenshit to give their side of the story.
It's what they're saying and we're giving them a free pass. Get my point?

15. Not really. Fox is a propaganda outlet - that's all - not a news |
|
network. People who watch and patronize Fox are not there to get the "news", they are there in order to get the latest talking points. Having Democrats on those programs only legitimizes the propaganda. By simply refusing to be part of the propaganda machine, the Democrats can send a much more powerful message that might even sink into the dull minds of those who watch the swill. We just disagree on this and that's ok - we're Democrats and we are allowed to disagree with each other. :hi:

9. In Faux Newspeak, that means that the Democrats are afraid of Faux News |
|
OhReally does this shit all the time. He claims to have been a journalist for, what, like 15 years or something, but always neglects to mention that up until about 1998 most of his career in "journalism" was spent working for a celebrity-obsessed tabloid program.
So, not only does he clearly lack any journalistic integrity or qualifications, but he also is fanaticaly devoted to the right wing agenda and has a reputation for bullying guests of his show who don't share his twisted world-view.
But he plays his lack of credibility to his advantage.
When people refuse to come on his show, usually by laughing at him or rejecting his offer in disgust, he goes on the air and reports that these people are "too afraid" to face him.
Is that so, Bill? Then why is it that whenever you are suckered into a debate in an environment that isn't controlled and moderated either by you or someone as conservative as you, you get your ass kicked all over the place.
Franken did it to him a few years ago on BookTV, Krugman did it on Tim Russert's show, and Letterman recently tore him apart on the Late Show.
But that's how Faux News operates. They can't get people to come on their network because they don't have any crediblity and everyone knows about their bias.
But they just stress to their loyal fans that the real reason people are refusing to go on their network is because they are afraid...

James Carville and Bob Beckel who have no problem going on FOX and surgically de-balling (my term) the opposition in a debate every time. Bob Beckel is one of the sharpest and most deadly commentators on our side. Mean and accurate S.O.B.!

Faux is great, but they need to state a reason publicly for it. If they just refuse to talk without a stated reason it just smacks of sour grapes. And the reason should be very simple. "The Fox network is a propaganda machine of the extreme right and christofacism. We as Democrats do not support totalitarian regimes and their tools."

12. Good for the Democrats. They should boycott that entire network. |
|
Seriously, why bother to show up when the Faux hosts just stomp all over what they say? They invite two wingnuts on for every Dem and start a pile-on. Then there's O'Liely's outrageous lies and charming habit of cutting off his guests' mikes. Wesley Clark is a different case, however, because he contributes to the news. He's not a 'guest' used for target practice.
Boycott the @ssholes. They'll just make up their own 'news', anyway. How do we know that they tried to get Dems on the show? Because Faux claims it? Exactly what I'm talking about.
